Massage is simply touch. By use of the hands, fingers, elbows and
forearms, we can achieve relaxation, relief from pain and improvement
in function. I believe in a true multi-disciplinary approach to the
treatments and may use any or all of the following to achieve an

Swedish Massage refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles
by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and
rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the
heart; there is oil or cream used to aid in the application
of pressure to the skin. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.

Hot Stone Therapy is used to ground the individual and provide deep relaxation.
Smooth basalt stones are heated and applied with oil in long flowing
strokes, connecting body and spirit to earth. The
stones are all different sizes and weights, from large to small, with
small stones used on the face and feet and larger rocks used as tools
by the therapist to work muscles in different areas of the body.
Placing and kneading hot stones over muscles helps increase an area's
circulation and blood flow to stimulate healing to painful or damaged
muscles. The massage and heat of the stones also aid in the ability to
move toxins and waste through the body.

Foot Reflexology causes a healing effect on various body
parts and organs (a reflex response) by stimulation of specific points
on the feet. Based on a system of zones and
reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands
with a premise that such work effects a physical change in the body.This technique can be added onto any treatment.

Basic Deep Tissue Massage
involves the same movements as Swedish, but incorporates deeper
pressure to areas of tension on the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on
realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is
especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as
stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

Neuromuscular Therapy
is an advanced Deep Tissue technique used to identify nerve and
muscular entrapments with pain patterns and release them. This
treatment involves deeper strokes to the affected areas of the body,
trigger point treatment, and treatment of the connective tissue layer
called "myofascia".
Neuromuscular
Therapy will be used to address five elements that cause pain:
- Ischemia:
Lack of blood supply to soft tissues which causes hypersensitivity to
touch
- Trigger
Points:
Highly irritated points in muscles which refer pain to other parts of
the body
- Nerve
Compression or Entrapment:
Pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone
- Postural
Distortion:
Imbalance of the muscular system resulting from the movement of the
body off the longitudinal and horizontal planes
- Biomechanical
Dysfunction:
Imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in faulty movement
patterns.

Chakra Balancing improves your health and wellbeing, physically, mentally and
emotionally. Chakras
are like the power stations of our body, bringing it to life, and
keeping it healthy. Each chakra is associated with different parts of
us and they need to spin totally in balance for us to feel good.
I will assist you through a process that allows your chakras to
fully open and become balanced.

Shiatsu Neck Release
is an old oriental technique known by few in this country. It involves
using the therapist's feet on the clients neck and shoulders. As client
lies face up on the table, pressure is applied using feet, to neck and
shoulders, thereby producing an intense stretch and deepest pressure
tolerated. An excellent way to remove knots and stress in that most
troublesome area!

Reiki treatment consists of laying the hands on the body in a
prescribed pattern and allowing the energy of life to flow through the
hands to the person being treated.
The
basic element of life energy is the essence of this healing practice.
Because this is so, Reiki can be used in any situation where there is a
desire for and openness to healing. Culturally, we know little about
this element of life energy. It is in the practice of the art,
consciously being with this energy, that we learn more and become more
aware.
